F.A.Q
Your questions
What is a lawyer's deed?
A lawyer’s deed is a contract countersigned by the lawyer(s) of all the parties; it may be a contract of sale, a contract for the provision of services, a lease, a settlement agreement … in short, any type of contract.
With this countersignature by a lawyer, the deed is proof of the identity and signature of the parties until it is forged. It has a stronger evidential value for its other details, including the information provided to the parties. Its legal force is therefore much greater, and it is difficult to call into question at a later date.
What is a business lawyer?
Lawyers are trained to assist, defend and advise company directors and traders in all commercial matters:
Drafting and filing articles of association, legal documents, company restructuring, contesting tax adjustments or advising on tax and social security contributions, hiring and firing employees, salaries, contesting administrative decisions, operating permits, legal audits on compliance with standards, assistance with the sale/purchase of a business or shares, disputes between traders, commercial leases, non-performance/performance of commercial contracts, unfair competition, trademark and patent registration, etc. Business law therefore encompasses a very wide range of matters relating to economic life.
What are the advantages of alternative dispute resolution?
An amicable agreement may be submitted to a judge for homologation, either during the course of proceedings if they have already begun, or on application: after homologation, which is simple and quick, an amicable agreement has the same enforceability as a court decision.
What do I need to do for the first review?
You should contact the lawyer concerned by email: jcbonfils@wanadoo.fr or eloise.fournier@avocat.fr , give a chronological summary of the facts, then explain the problem, and your query. Attach any necessary documents. Finally, give us your telephone number if we need to call you back. At the end, we’ll let you know what we think, what we think should be done, and how we’re going to get involved.
